There is a collection of coding standards for this course that everyone is expected to follow in all submitted work.
Some standards are intended to keep you away from pitfalls.
Some standards are concerned with using methods that are important for larger software.
Some standards are to make it easier for me to grade your work.
The most important standard is: follow the instructions. Read each assignment carefully, and do what it says to do. Do not make up your own assignment. Each assignment is designed to give you experience using a particular technique. If you don't follow the instructions, you do not learn what the assignment focuses on.
In this course, everyone is required to follow the standards, and you will lose points for not following them. Even if you do not like a particular standard, follow it. Even if someone else says that you should not be required to follow a particular standard, follow it anyway. I cannot make exceptions for individuals who feel that the standards are not consistent with their styles.
